Miami
Health Clinics
Miami-Dade
County oversees a network of community health clinics which offer
care regardless of one's ability to pay. Click here
for a list of these clinics.
You
may also choose to see a private primary care specialist, or "family
doctor". For these doctors you must be insured with a health
plan or pay up front in order to receive care. If the primary
care doctor belongs to your health plan's network of physicians,
you will pay less. Click
here to learn more about US health insurance plans.
In
order to see a specialist you must normally be seen first by a
family doctor.

Sometimes if you cannot show evidence of insurance or means of
payment you can be denied treatment. Most major insurance plans
cover much but not all of one's hospital expenses. In addition
to room costs you must pay separately for treatment by your specialist,
emergency room fees and ambulance services.
