Click here for some valuable insights on job hunting from experienced executive recruiter Manuel Boado, founder and CEO of SpanUSA, a bilingual executive search firm. (updated March 2004)

Where are the jobs in Miami?

Banking and finance: Miami is a major domestic and international banking center for commercial banks, investment banks, savings and loans and other financial services. Over 100 international banks have their Latin American branches here. The industry is centered near downtown Miami's Brickell Avenue area. (see Nason and Nason recruiters)

Hospitality: As a huge tourist mecca, Miami's hospitality industry is another good source of jobs. Restaurant and hotel workers are in demand seasonally. High season is December thru May. Keep in mind it will be much easier to find a non-professional job if you already possess a work permit or green card.
Information Technology: Miami's technology industry is growing. See dice.com for software and network administration positions.

Where do I look for jobs?

A good place to search for Miami sales and marketing jobs, computer jobs and administrative jobs would be the newspaper classifieds. Both the Miami Herald and New Times have classified sections. **Most of these jobs also require a prior work permit or green card.
