The City of Miami and the City of Miami Beach both offer metered on-street parking. Parking rates are .25 cents every 15 minutes. These meters accept quarters, nickels, dimes and special electronic debit cards which can be purchased from each city's parking authority.

Parking Permits:

-Residential parking permits are available for sale for street parking and in city garages at the rate of $3 per day. These decals are designed to hang from your car's rear-view mirror.

-If you wish to buy a visitor parking permit to park in a residential zone, 2-week permits are available. The resident must accompany you and show proof of residency. You must also bring your car-rental contract or car registration to buy the permit.

-Park and ride services are available for major events and large trade shows. Call the City of Miami Beach Parking Hotline (305-673-PARK) for more information.

Disabled Parking:

Disabled accessible parking is available at all on-street meters, parking lots and garages. There is no charge for this parking.

City Garages:

Parking garages in Miami cost $1.25 per hour with a 24 hour maximum (for non-permit holders). Downtown Miami has two 24-hour garages and two which close at midnight.

Miami Parking Regulations

Please keep in mind the following basic parking rules:

-Parking at a meter without paying is subject to a fine and/or towing.

-Overtime parking is charged $18.00.

-Improper parking is charged $23.00. You should park no further than 18" from the sidewalk. Park between the lines demarcating each parking spot.

-Parking violations are enforced by towing 24 hours/day, 7 days a week

-Florida drivers must wear a seatbelt while driving at all times

-Diagonally striped lanes are for disabled access only, not parking.

-Park at least 10 feet from a fire hydrant.

-Never park on the sidewalk.

-Never park on a crosswalk, an alley or in restricted or prohibited zones.

   Failure to comply will result in the issuance of additional costs, and further failure may result in the denial of vehicle registration, the immobilization of vehicle, impoundment of vehicle, or the impoundment of the license plate.
